Appearance

He has an androgynous, teen-like appearance with silver hair and deep red eyes with slit pupils. He presents two red horns and a demonic tail, and in Phase 2 he also reveals a pair of demonic wings. He dons a white suit with red borders.

Satan's wings in Phase 2

In Phase 3, he takes a more adult-like appearance, and his hair, ears and horns grow longer.

In his Ressurection of Blood state, his clothes and hair turned black, and later unleashed 12 red angel-like wings when manifesting his Halo.

When awakening as Archangel Lucifer, his body takes a more feminine shape, and dons a more angelic aura, forsaking the horns and demon wings for a golden halo and gigantic 12 wings, big enough to cover the entire planet, manifested from his long hair.

Personality

He is generally quiet and uninterested in anything that doesn't relate to power. He only pursues strength and thrilling battles, perhaps due to his special vision. He regards death battles as a way to 'play' and cares for no one around him (the only exceptions being Odin and to some degree, Mori)- In a way, he is meant to resemble Jin Mori's past self.

He is quite emotionally immature compared to the other gods and even acts childlike. He is prone to crying whenever he meets an opponent much stronger than him. [6][7] He hates losing, and everytime he does so, he is demoralized and feels weak. [2]

After listening to Mori's words, he doesn't pursue only physical strength, but also mental toughness, not giving up fighting against Park Mujin despite knowing his demise would be inevitable and being intimidated by him. [7]

When witnessing Park Taejin's Miracle, he realized his role and made his first sacrifice for others- He gave his life, power and protection to Mori. [3]

Relationships

Jin Mori

"Are you serious? You're going to beat him in your current state? [...] That's absurd. But... I'm even worse."

Satan saw Mori as his idol after witnessing his accomplishments as Wukong and was eager to fight him. Due to the circumstances in Ragnarok, Mori mainly saw him as a threat, but also saw his old self in him. After being defeated by Mori, their hostilities ceased, and Satan was even willing to help Mori during his fight with Ultio R.

Satan and Mori cross paths once more after Mujin nulled the contract made in Ragnarok. After being defeated by Mujin and locked inside Odin's Library for their protection, Satan became disheartened and sad, but Mori cheers him up by keeping him company. When Satan was crying after Odin, Mori was able to sympathize with him and stood close by. Because of his mental fortitude despite the peril they were in, Satan admires him even more and unknowingly encourages Mori to rediscover his obsessive desire for power.

He admires Mori so much, he gets happy whenever Mori compliments him. [2][5] (it's cute.)

Satan would later sacrifice himself to gift Mori his protection and power after awakening as Archangel Lucifer.

Odin

"I miss... Odin..."

They first met in the First Heavenly Realm when Satan lost to Beelzebub. He offered him ointment to help with his injuries and saw the potential in him. Witnessing Satan's victory over Beelzebub half a day later, he was impressed with him. Ever since, he stuck with him, caring for him and being concerned over his safety. This was seen clearly from Ragnarok to the fight against Mujin, where he sacrificed himself and all divine troops to help Satan and Mori survive.

Satan also cares for him a great deal, being seen tugging his arm back in Ragnarok and crying for him when Odin stayed behind to help him escape and survive.

Overall, they have a father-son dynamic.

Park Mujin

"Salvation. You wanted salvation. Your own salvation... And the salvation of humanity. To think your deepest desire wasn't just your own salvation, but humanity's! Who thinks like that?! You and Tathagata... are alike. From the way you think... To the things you do."

They did not interact much before their fight when Mujin became a God, and even then, there isn't a lot to their relationship. Mujin hated him for being a god and wanted him dead, while Satan only wanted a thrilling fight to the death. However, Mujin does appreciate and respect his strength.

Background

"No one knows where or how he was born. One day, he just was."

His past as Archangel Lucifer was never explored, and the only thing known about him is that he was conceived on the sun. It would seem he was known by Uriel and Michael.

He woke up as a baby at the bottom of the Heavenly Realm- The lowest of beings were watching over and protecting him, but the moment he gained a consciousness, he witnessed as all of them were instantly turned into meat. He was already standing at the top. Bored of the life there, he decided to climb higher.

While he was climbing, he happened to witness Jecheondaeseong killing Tathagata. This spine-chilling event motivated him into climbing faster, and by the time he reached the top of the 2nd floor, he was met with Uriel and Michael, who called him "Satan" and invited him to the First Heavenly Realm.

While the gods were unsettled over who should be the next master after Tathagata's demise, Satan offered to compete for that spot. While at first was defeated by Beelzebub, just half a day later was able to win against him.

Albeit he won the gods' respect as the strongest, he was nowhere as feared as Jecheondaeseong was- he was even compared to him, outright being told that he lacks the scent of violence Mori once had. [4] This, combined with his sincere admiration towards him, made Satan want to fight him and even shake his hand after.

Abilities & Powers

He is one of the strongest characters in The God of High School, only defeated by Jin Mori and Park Mujin. He has unlimited potential and the ability to adapt and grow at an insane rate, even beating Mori in this regard.

Mind Reading - He is shown to be able to read others' minds, and does it so well, he can perfectly copy any attack just from reading it from the opponent's mind.

Power Mimicry - He can copy any skill, physical or not, perfectly, even if it's just from someone's mind. He was even able to copy Mori's Recoilless Renewal, something even Dean Agnes was unable to copy.

Satan's armor: La Diablo

Resurrection of Blood - He is capable of melting himself into a pool of blood then resurrect. With this ability, some of his wounds regenerated.

He can absorb light and heat with his wings and horns, and release them through lasers from his eyes. [4]

He does not wield any weapon of his own, as he steals his opponents' during fights.

Satan is blind, and so, he can only perceive the world around him through power.

Satan has 2 lives. During his fight against Mori, he lost 1 life and 3/5ths. [6]

- Fourth Stance: Wave of the Blue Dragon;

Trivia

According to an interview with Yongje in 2018, Satan is the strongest in the series in terms of raw power. He only loses to Tathagata and Mori due to the difference in skill. Of course, this does not include Maitreya Mori or Supreme God Mujin.
- Since it's such an old interview, it is unknown if this statement remains valid.
Taking into account Satan's backstory and origins, it is very likely that it was Uriel and Michael who named him as such.
Unfortunately, Satan's background as Lucifer was never explored.
- This remains purely a theory, but if Lucifer was conceived on the sun, that would make him an Ancient/Native God like Subhuti and Gaia.
Despite having little screentime, Satan quickly became a favourite within the fanbase.
